On March 31, 2026, FIU-Mongolia held a training session to strengthen the capacity of commercial banks’ compliance departments in detecting and reporting suspicious transactions.

The session formed part of FIU-Mongolia’s ongoing efforts to enhance practical, case-based skills in identifying and reporting suspicious activity. Participants also received updates on reporting procedures through the goAML portal.

The training brought together key stakeholders, with the Independent Authority Against Corruption presenting recent typologies related to abuse of official positions, while the Economic Crimes Division of the Criminal Police Department under the National Police Agency provided insights into emerging cybercrime trends.

Commercial bank representatives also contributed, sharing information and insights on monitoring transactions involving dual-use goods, as well as outlining recent developments in cybercriminal activities along with corresponding response measures.
